Amvets Post to Welcome Trump, Cabinet Members

STRUTHERS, Ohio — First Lady Melania Trump will join her husband this evening when they meet with military veterans here at the Amvets Post 44 at 305  Elm St. The White House announced her participation on its website and said it is part of Donald Trump’s “Salute to American Heroes.”

The invitation only event begins at 6 p.m. and will be streamed live on the White House website.

President Trump will honor 150 veterans and their families during his visit to the post. He will be accompanied by three members of his cabinet: David Shulkin, secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs, Ryan Zinke, secretary of the Department of the Interior, and Rick Perry, secretary of the Department of Energy.

Streets surrounding the post will be blocked off to traffic beginning at 2:30 this afternoon, according to city officials.
