Beatitude House Seeks Back-to-School Donations

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — As the homeless and disadvantaged children served by Beatitude House prepare for the upcoming school year, Beatitude House is asking for the help of the community. It is taking a collection for back-to-school supplies such as note cards and three-ring binders.

Also on the list of needs are flash drives, book covers, pencil boxes, tissues, hand sanitizer, paper towels, sandwich size and large ziplock baggies, sanitizing wipes, dry-erase markers, Play-Doh, wide-rule and college-rule notebooks and loose leaf paper.

Donations of back packs, lunch bags, and gift cards that can be used to buy school clothing, shoes, socks and underwear will be appreciated as well, officials said. The children attend all grades in elementary, middle and high school.

Those interested in donating are invited to take items to the administrative offices of Beatitude House, 213 Tod Lane, and at 1310 Tod Avenue in Warren. Donations are accepted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. All items are needed by Aug. 3 because many schools start early this year because Labor Day falls so late.
