‘Building Art ‘ to Support Morley Arts Building
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Building Art, the annual celebration of the creative artists and works taking place at the Morley Arts Building, takes place March 7 at 7 p.m. at the building, 218 W. Boardman St. The building is home to Ballet Western Reserve.
“The arts community of the Morley Arts Building will once again put the ‘fun’ in fundraising with this celebration of the Mahoning Valley’s most nurturing and productive creative venue,” said Staś Kmieć, Ballet Western Reserve’s artistic director. “Repairs, renovation and updates at our facility are necessary and will this event will allow the great work that is developed in this historic building to continue.”
The event is structured as an interactive evening that will include dance, theater, music, song and art. Attendees can choose amongst a variety of simultaneous and consecutive participatory and lecture-style workshops by various artists and arts organizations. The event reception will include heavy hors d’oeuvres and a variety of wines, beers, coffee and tea. A “Dinner for a Year” basket including gift certificates from numerous area establishments will be raffled during the evening.
All funds raised will go towards repairs and renovations of the Morley Building. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for students, and can be ordered by calling 330 744-1934.
