Burgan Real Estate Toasts 40 Years with ‘Burgan Burger’

CANFIELD, Ohio — Pair a real estate company with a restaurant whose name includes pizza and what do you get? A specialty burger.

That’s right and to confirm this story isn’t fake news, check out the upper right corner of the menu at Inner Circle Pizza at 8579 Ironwood Blvd. There you’ll find the “Burgan Burger,” a tribute to Burgan Real Estate Ltd. and its landlord at Ironwood Commons, the Naffah Hospitality Group, which operates the Inner Circle.

Burgan, which also has offices in Boardman and Liberty Township, is celebrating 40 years in business.

The “Burgan Burger” is a combination of ingredients beginning with the letter “B.” The beef patty is served on a brioche bun and topped with bacon, blue cheese, a “broken” fried egg, bourbon sauce and a battered onion ring.

Patrick Burgan, son of co-founder John Burgan, says the idea is a throwback to his parent’s house that had “a really fun 1950’s themed finished basement. In the bar area, there was a sign that read ‘special of the day.’ For 25 years, it read, ‘Burgan Burger.’ We are excited Inner Circle in Canfield is giving us the opportunity to bring it to life after all these years and share it with the residents of the Mahoning Valley.”

The idea for the collaboration dates to a year ago when Burgan Real Estate moved into the Ironwood Commons. Planning for the menu item began two months ago, Burgan says, and is part of a marketing and public relations strategy “designed to showcase why residents in the area are ‘Better with Burgan,’ ” he says.

Burgan and Sue Filipovich, whose father, Leon Turek, joined John Burgan in founding the company, are co-owners of the agency. They joined Michal Naffah, owner of the restaurant and Ironwood Commons, on Thursday to order the first “Burgan Burgers” served at the restaurant.

The specialty burger is served with fries and will be available for $11.99 for a limited time.
