Business Journal Announces New Executive Team, Editors

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown Publishing Co., parent of The Business Journal, has promoted four individuals and realigned its  executive team, Publisher and President Andrea Wood announces.

Michael Moliterno, video production manager and anchor of the Daily BUZZ, has been named vice president of operations. Among his new responsibilities are managing digital and social media content as well as video and webcast content. Moliterno is also making the transition into sales, marketing and editorial oversight. He was hired by The Business Journal in October 2009 as a videographer and became manager of video production and webcast anchor in July 2014.

Laura Eileen Lovell, assistant publisher, was named treasurer of the Youngstown Publishing Co. She was hired by The Business Journal in April 1987 as a bookkeeper and rose through the ranks as systems manager. She was named assistant publisher in February 2003. Her appointment as company treasurer formally recognizes the outstanding financial management duties she has performed for more than 25 years, Wood says.

Two veterans of the editorial staff have also been promoted.

George Nelson, senior reporter whose tenure with The Business Journal dates to 1985, the year after the newspaper was founded, was promoted to assignment editor.

Senior reporter Dan O’Brien was named associate editor. O’Brien’s employment with The Business Journal dates to 1987. He is also the newspaper’s editorial cartoonist.

“Our outstanding staff is most deserving of these promotions and new duties. Each has contributed greatly to the success of our print, online and video news platforms, and their contributions going forward will further advance our journalism in this ever-changing industry,” Wood said.

The Youngstown Publishing Co., based in downtown Youngstown, employs 20 full- and part-time professionals.
