Cafaro, Seals Named to YSU Board of Trustees

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Former state Sen. Capri S. Cafaro of Hubbard and hospital executive Molly Seals have been appointed the Youngstown State University’s Board of Trustees.

The appointments were announced Wednesday by Gov. John R. Kasich.

Seals is system vice president of human resources program deliverly at Mercy Health Youngstown. Her term ends April 30, 2024. She replaces Charles Bush, a Columbus physician who resigned from the board.

Cafaro served 10 years as a state senator and was minority leader from 2009 to 2012. She is an executive in residence at American University’s School of Public Affairs in Washington D.C. Her term ends June 30, 2026.

Earlier this month, Kasich appointed Lexi Rager of Bristolville to a two-year term as a student trustee. The board consists of nine members, plus two student members, all appointed by the governor.
