DFW Furniture Begins Liquidation Sale Dec. 26
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Designer Furniture Warehouse, also know as DFW Furniture, begins its bankruptcy liquidation sale Dec. 26 at eight of its stores in the region, including the DFW outlet at the Eastwood Mall in Niles.
The company filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy Nov. 13 “due to economic pressures caused by the recent recession,” states its announcement of the liquidation sales. Its bankruptcy petition lists assets and debts each in the range of $1 million to $10 million.
Founded in 2004, the company grew quickly from one store in Ohio to over a dozen stores in Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. “The fast growth rate, combined with reduced credit lines from cautious vendors, negatively impacted the company’s ability to fulfill customer orders on a timely basis,” the company says.
As part of its restructuring, the company is liquidating its inventory, as well as offering some new inventory for the bankruptcy liquidation sale. A special website is set up for the liquidation at www.DFWGOB.com
In addition to the Niles store, Ohio DFW stores participating in the inventory sell-off include the company’s locations in Chillicothe, Heath, Zanesville, New Philadelphia and St. Clairsville, Ohio: Pleasant Hills, Pa., Washington, Pa.
The Columbus store will continue to operate under the direct management and control of DFW Furniture. The Wexford, Pa., and Huntington, W.Va., stores are permanently closed, the company said.
