Cookie Table & Cocktails Set for Feb. 6

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The Mahoning Valley Historical Society will hold its third annual Cookie Table & Cocktails event Feb. 6 at the Tyler History Center.

Billed as a “fun and frivolous wedding reception atmosphere,” the event will run from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. and feature music, dancing, appetizers, beverages, silent auction and a “cookie table extraordinaire,” according to the news release announcing the event.

Cookie Table & Cocktails is organized by the Young Leaders Advisory Board, a group within the Mahoning Valley Historical Society comprised of members who promote MVHS programming in the community. Funds raised at the event will go toward new exhibits to be installed at the center.

“The Young Leaders Advisory Board wanted to create a signature fundraiser to support the Tyler History Center campaign, and we decided that the cookie table was the perfect way to do that,” said Frank Rulli, the board’s president and chairman of the event. “Not only does it celebrate a unique Mahoning Valley tradition, but it also highlights our area’s diverse cultures and food connoisseurs. The entries in the cookie contest were spectacular, and we anticipate even tougher competition this time around.”

Professional and amateur cookie bakers are being accepted for the cookie contest, and those interested in participating can print an application form at the MVHS website or call 330 743 2589.

The Waypoint Group of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, Canfield, is title sponsor for the event. Sponsorship levels, which offer varying degrees of publicity and complimentary tickets, are Wedding Reception Sponsor ($1,000), Wedding Dance Sponsor ($500), Bouquet Sponsor ($250), Honeymoon Sponsor ($100) and Guest Book Sponsor ($25 to $75).

The deadline for sponsorships is Jan. 24. For information, contact Cheryl (Staib) Lewis, MVHS campaign director, at clewis@mahoninghistory.org or call 330 743 2589, or contact Rulli at frankrulli@faniroarchitects.com or 330 747 2800.
