Economic Action Group Seeks Survey Responses

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Economic Action Group is conducting a survey of Mahoning Valley residents. It’s part of an initiative to increase the amount of educated talent in the region.

The importance of retaining and attracting educated young talent is reflected by data available through the American Community Survey, which shows that 19.8% of the local metropolitan statistical area’s residents possess a bachelor’s degree, compared to the national rate of 29.3%.

Also, according to the American Community Survey, between 2010 and 2014, the number of Mahoning Valley residents in their prime working age dropped by 7.2%. In addition, the survey found that 10,000 people left the metropolitan region between 2010 and 2015.

The survey, which takes about 15 minutes to complete, asks a series of questions with a goal to identify talent perceptions, assets, challenges and opportunities in the region. It can be taken here
