Entrepreneurs Compete for Startup Help at eCenter

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Eight teams of finalists who represent five colleges will compete in the Oh-Penn for Business College Business Plan Competition from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 16 at the eCenter@LindenPointe.

A total $3,500 in prizes will be awarded plus assistance and incubation space, says Lisa O’Hara, executive assistant at the eCenter.

The plans will be judged on:

  • Viability of the business idea.
  • Quality of the business plan.
  • Quality of the presentation.
  • Overall professionalism.

The first-place winner will receive a $2,000 cash prize/seed funding, second place $2,000 and third place $500. Each of the top-three finishers will also receive three months summer entrepreneurship boot camp/incubation at the eCenter, one consulting session with Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Central and Northern PA, and two e-commerce workshops with the eMarketing Learning Center.
