Huntington Awards $7K for TNP Lot Program

WARREN, Ohio – Huntington Bank has awarded $7,000 to Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership in support of its side-lot incentive program that the partnership runs in conjunction with the Trumbull County Land Reutilization Corp.

The corporation is better known as the Trumbull County Land Bank.

The executive director of the partnership, Matt Martin, announced the grant, the third from Huntington Bank in three years, Friday.

The program allows residents of Warren who have bought a side lot from the land bank to receive a $250 gift card from Lowe’s. Recipients can use the gift cards only to buy tools, materials and the supplies they need to improve their side lots, Martin said.

In addition, Lowe’s will provide a 10% discount on any garden tools, materials or supplies a resident buys with the gift card.

In 2013, Huntington provided $10,000, which the neighborhood partnership used to distribute 20 $500 cards. Last year, Huntington gave $5,000 and the partnership distributed 20 $250 gift cards, Martin said.

Both years the cards went quickly and he expects the 28 cards available this year to go just as quickly.

Those interested can apply at the partnership homepage or by calling 330 469 6828.
