Inspiring Minds Sets Fundraising Gala for April 22

WARREN, Ohio – Inspiring Minds will hold its 11th annual fundraising gala April 22 at the Metroplex Expo Center in Liberty Township to accommodate the nonprofit’s growing support, Deryck Toles announced Monday.

Toles is the founder and CEO.

The Annual Gala, one of Inspiring Mind’s largest fundraisers, has sold out the last five years with more than 500 people attending each gala.

“This year, we’re excited to host our gala at a new venue that allows us to engage more businesses, invite more individuals, and celebrate more student successes with our community,” Toles said.

The fundraiser is set for 4 to 7 p.m.

Inspiring Minds is a not-for-profit outreach organization that works with under-represented youth in the region and aims to engage, inspire and empower its students through education and exposure to new experiences. Since 2006, Inspiring Minds has served more than 2,000 students, visited 70 cities in 15 states, toured more than 70 colleges, and explored more than 60 companies across the country.

All of Inspiring Minds’ students have graduated from high school and pursued post-secondary study at college or entered the military.

Most of the organization’s funding – 65% — comes from events such as the gala and individual donations. The gala features gourmet cuisine, scholarship presentations to college-bound students, community awards and recognitions, auctions, and raffles.

“Every volunteer, every mentor, every dollar truly helps our program continue to change lives for the better,” Toles said in a statement.
