Lane Cooper Exhibit Sept. 6 at KSU Trumbull

CHAMPION TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Link Gallery at Kent State University at Trumbull will present an exhibition of paintings by Lane Cooper beginning Sept. 6. The exhibit, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” will continue through Oct. 6.

An artist’s reception will take place from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 7.

Cooper’s paintings explore the ways in which fragments from our perceptual experiences and memories are pieced together to form meaning that is in the artist’s view, always shifting, filled with extraneous noise, and, because it is fundamentally fragmentary, always just out of grasp.

Cooper has presented work in a diverse range of venues including Gallery Aferro in Newark, N.J., CPI in New York City and around Cleveland at William Busta Gallery and Waterloo Arts. Since 2001, she has taught at the Cleveland Institute of Art, where she holds the rank of Associate Professor.

The Link Gallery is open Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. It’s in the Classroom Building of the Trumbull Campus. For more information, email Phillip Buntin, associate professor of art, at pbuntin@kent.edu.
