MCCTC Business Students Participate in National Conference

CANFIELD, Ohio – Top students from Mahoning County Career and Technical Center will be attending the Business Professionals of America 2017 National Leadership Conference, “Spread Your Wings,” in Orlando, Fla. from May 10 to 14.

MCCTC chapter members, Dylan Mills, Ethan Edwards, Kyle Mamounis, Marty Pavalko, Jayden Goddard, Nathan Davis and Logan Micheals along with their instructor, Helen Slack will join over 6,000 other conference delegates from across the nation to participate in national level business skills competitions, workshops, general sessions, and national officer candidate campaigns and elections.

“The conference will be the culmination of business education and information technology training which members of the local chapter of Business Professionals of America at MCCTC have received,” said chapter advisor, Helen Slack, who teaches the information technology course.

Ethan Edwards, Marty Pavalko and Kyle Mamounis participated in the network design team event and placed 1st in state. Jayden Goddard participated in the fundamentals of word processing event and placed 3rd in state. Dylan Mills participated in the presentation management event and placed 3rd in state.

Logan Micheals and Nathan Davis will be presenting their mobile application and will compete for the best in show award during the BPA National Showcase. Slack will also be recognized at the NLC for her achievement as a fifteen-year national honor advisor for Business Professionals of America.
