My Town, Your Town Day Camp Explores Local History

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Mahoning Valley Historical Society will offer students the chance to explore local history at its source during its My Town, Your Town, Youngstown Summer Day Camp at the Tyler Mahoning Valley History Center.

The five-day camp, which runs July 6-10, will feature field trips to several historic sites and landmarks. Participants will visit locations including Mill Creek MetroParks, the Arms Family Museum, America Makes, WFMJ-TV and other key sites downtown.

Throughout the week, campers will create an art project of their choice that highlights their favorite aspect of local history. Campers will present those projects July 10 at the close of camp.

The camp begins at 10 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m. each day. Early drop-off and late pick-up are available.

Registration is required and forms are available at the MVHS website or by calling 330 743 2589. The registration fee is $90 for MVHS members, or $100 for non-MVHS members. The registration fee is $90 for MVHS members or $100 for non-members.
