Pink Ribbon Bagel Sales Benefit Abdu Center

WARREN, Ohio – Covelli Enterprises and Panera Bread will mark the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month today with their annual Go Pink Day. All seven Mahoning Valley Panera Bread bakery-cafes will donate 100% of the proceeds from “Pink Ribbon Bagel” sales to the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center.

Throughout October, Panera Bread cafes will donate a portion of proceeds from each Pink Ribbon Bagel sold to the center in support of the Joanie’s Promise Fund, which makes the center’s services available to all regardless of their ability to pay.

Last year, more than 14,000 bagels were sold during Go Pink Day. This year Youngstown State University’s Zeta Tau Alpha sorority will match the amount raised.

“We are so grateful for the continued generosity of Covelli Enterprises and the community through events like Panerathon and the Pink Ribbon Bagel sales. We are able to provide programs and services to women in the community through Joanie’s Promise because of these ongoing efforts,” said Candace Madden of the Mercy Health Foundation/
