Potter Fest Comes to Lawrence County July 28-30

VOLANT, Pa. – This weekend Route 208 will be transformed into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Nova Destinations will hold “Fantastic Drinks and Where to Find Them Family Trail” and “The Festival That Shall Not be Named,” which kicks off July 28, followed by “Potterfest” July 29 in Volant Village.

Guests will receive a personalized ministry of magic card as a ticket to advance through the self-driven trail for all four locations.

The trail begins at Knockin Noggin Cidery as The Squeaky Cauldron, 600 Main St., Volant, Pa., then on to Fractured Grape Wine Cellars as Azkaban Penitentiary, 115 E. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington, Pa., Nova Cellars Winery as Head Master’s Quarters and Brew 32 as 32 Broomsticks, 1474 State Route 208, Pulaski Pa.

“It’s fun to watch how creative each shop is getting,” said Potterfest coordinator Heather Butchy.

The event will feature Harry Potter gear and merchandise, photo booths, yard games, Honeydukes Sweet shop with baked goods, chocolate frogs, butterbeer popcorn, snow cones, cotton candy and more.

A Horcrux Hunt will be ongoing throughout the weekend, where all seven horcruxes will be hidden on the grounds. A sorting hat seminar and Potter Paint n Sips will take place twice a day.

Live music will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. July 28 and 29, and from 2 to 4 p.m. July 30.
