Saturday Reception Set for M Gallery Exhibition

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – An artist reception is scheduled for Saturday for About Places | Perspectives in Printmaking, the new exhibition at M Gallery at Erie Terminal Place.

The exhibition, which runs through Jan. 8, features works by artists Jack Carlton of Youngstown and Glenn Ratusnik of Cleveland, as well as artists of the Cleveland printmaking collective Zygote Press Inc.

The holiday gift-shopping reception, which runs from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, coincides with Small Business Saturday, a nationwide promotion to encourage people to patronize locally owned businesses.

A working artist for more than 40 years, “Carlton delights in printing with found objects to create textures that become images of urban landscapes, unique architecture, and the people that dwell within,” according to a news release announcing the exhibition and reception.

Zygote Press, an artist workshop promoting contemporary fine-art printing, is the only open-access print studio in Northeast Ohio and is the largest in the state, according to the release. Featured Zygote artists are Liz Maugans, director, Anne Kibbe, Elizabeth Emery, Lisa Schonberg and Jen Craun.

Ratusnik, a past member of Zygote, explores places of stillness in reflections on suburban surroundings.

M Gallery is located in the first floor of Erie Terminal Place at 112 W. Commerce St.
