Slice of the Valley Set for Jan. 16

WARREN, Ohio ­– The second annual “Slice of the Valley” pizza contest will be held at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 16 at St. Demetrios Community Center, 3223 Atlantic St. NE. The event is sponsored  by the Warren Rotary Club.

Along with guest judges Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini and former Cleveland Browns running back Greg Pruitt, those attending the event can vote to decide the best pizza in the Mahoning Valley. Other events include a pizza-eating contest, 50/50 raffle, auctions and live music.

Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for children under age 6. Adult tickets include three slices of pizza and drinks, while children’s tickets are good for two slices and drinks.

Profits from the event will be donated to the Warren Family Mission’s women and children’s center, the Warren Police Department’s K-9 unit and to provide transportation for veterans in the Warren area to go the Solid Rock Therapeutic Riding Center in Louisville, Ohio, for rehabilitation.
