Steelathon to Raise Funds for Rescue Mission

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The third annual Youngstown Steelathon will take place at 8 a.m. June 25. The urban obstacle course, a fundraiser for the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley will begin at the Covelli Centre and run through downtown Youngstown and the Youngstown State University campus.

The Steelathon is the only obstacle course in the area that has an urban setting and “is designed to be a challenging and fun experience for people of all ages and fitness levels,” according to a news release announcing the event. The aim of the event is not only to support the Rescue Mission but to support and celebrate downtown Youngstown’s history.

Participants will receive a T-shirt and other freebies. Refreshments, music and prizes will also be available after the race at the Covelli Centre for participants.

The cost to participate is $45 before June 1, $55 after June 1 and $60 on race day. Teams of five or more people will receive a discount of $5 each.
