Westminster College Sees Increase in First-Year Deposits

NEW WILMINGTON, PA – Westminster College report a 20% increase in incoming first-year deposits and a 21% increase in applicants compared to June 2015.

“In our region, we’re in the midst of fierce competition – and yet, by these numbers, we can see that students and families from across the nation recognize the importance in the strong liberal arts education that Westminster provides,” said Dr. Thomas H. Stein, vice president for enrollment and marketing.

Incoming students will add to Westminster College’s geographic diversity, representing four countries and 20 states, he noted.

Stein attributes the enrollment increase to the efforts of the admissions staff, focused marketing and faculty engagement.

Westminster College, founded in 1852 and related to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), has nearly 1,400 undergraduate and graduate students. The liberal arts college is a national leader in graduation rate performance, according to U.S. News Best Colleges guide.
