YSU Program to Present Poverty Simulation

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown State University Bridges Out of Poverty Student Union will present a poverty simulation 9 a.m. to noon Friday in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center.

The event will instruct participants in what it is like to live inside of poverty.

As a student organization, Bridges Out of Poverty supports under-resourced college students by bringing awareness to issues they may face. The organization is dedicated to changing the perceptions of and towards under-resourced college students by providing learning communities and support services.

Members recently spoke out on poverty in a national conference in Cincinnati to create change not only in Youngstown but in other urban areas and states as well. The organization also works to guide under-resourced students towards student employment on campus.

For more information on the simulation, email [email protected] or call 330 941 2449.
