YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Association of Fundraising Professionals Mahoning-Shenango Chapter on Monday announced the 2026 honorees for local National Philanthropy Day Awards.
National Philanthropy Day recognizes the impact of philanthropy and the individuals and organizations that have embraced philanthropy as a way of life. The local celebration recognizes area individuals, businesses and organizations whose philanthropic efforts – across a variety of causes – have strengthened and enriched the Mahoning and Shenango valleys.
This year’s honorees are:
- Outstanding Philanthropist: Dr. Melinda Smith.
- Outstanding Corporate Philanthropist: The Anderson-DuBose Co.
- Outstanding Small Business Philanthropist: Westside Bowl.
- Outstanding Volunteer Fundraising Group: Congregation Ohev Beth Sholom.
- Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser: Jason Cottrill.
- Outstanding Foundation: Mercy Health Foundation.
- Special Recognition for Valley Impact: Youngstown Business and Professional Women.
The honorees will be recognized during an event at 11 a.m. Nov. 10 at Mr. Anthony’s Banquet Center, 7440 South Ave., Boardman. Advance reservations are required. The cost is $50 per person and $400 for a table of eight.
