YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Three Ursuline High School Class of 2026 members earned National Merit Scholar honors. 

Emma Choufani has been named a National Merit Semifinalist, placing her in the top 1% of students in the country. She’s competing to become a National Merit Finalist.

Anna Choufani and Evan Brockway have earned the title of National Merit Commended Scholars, placing them in the top 3% of test takers on the 2024 Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test.

Each year about 1.3 million juniors take the PSAT and enter the National Merit Scholarship competition. The top 50,000 students are recognized for their performance.

Anna and Emma, daughters of Bassel Choufani and Zeina El Amil, are graduates of St. Charles School and members of St. Maron Parish.

Evan, the son of Carl and Pam Brockway, is a graduate of Holy Family School and a member of its parish.
