COLUMBIANA, Ohio – The new playground project at Firestone Park was awarded a $4,500 grant through Westfield’s Legacy of Caring program.

Holloway Insurance Inc., which has offices in Columbiana and Lisbon, applied for the grant on behalf of Columbiana Project Playground, which is spearheading the project.

“The team at Holloway Insurance is always seeking opportunities to volunteer and support our community,” said Sean Holloway, president. “We are proud and thankful for our collaboration with Westfield, which helps our agency make a more powerful impact on the communities where we live and work.”

The new playground will offer an inclusive experience where everyone can play, learn and grow, no matter their ability. The playground will replace Funland, which was built by volunteers and community members in 1995.

“We are incredibly thankful to Westfield and Holloway Insurance for their belief in our mission,” said Michaela Good, president of Columbiana Project Playground. “Support from partners like Holloway Insurance and Westfield is what will turn our vision into reality and brings us closer to building a space where every child belongs.”

Each year, Westfield’s top independent insurance agents are invited to nominate a local nonprofit in their community to receive a donation. Donations are made to dozens of nonprofits in cities across Westfield’s national footprint.

The Westfield Insurance Foundation, an independent private foundation endowed by Westfield, awards the donations to support its top agents’ local communities.

“As Westfield enters our 177th year, we achieved this longevity by generations of employees and agents working together, committed to preserving and propelling our communities forward,” said Ed Largent, Westfield president, CEO, board chair and Westfield Insurance Foundation chairman. “Westfield continues to build on the strong commitment of caring that the founders of our company imagined. It’s a great feeling to link arms with our agents and make an impact.”
