AKRON, Ohio – 7 17 Credit Union celebrated the opening of its second branch in the city Wednesday.
The new branch, which is located inside the AES building downtown and shares a space with the Greater Akron Chamber, will emphasize business banking services to support the financial needs of Summit County enterprises.
According to a news release, the downtown location reflects 7 17’s commitment to expanding services in northeastern Ohio, and the branch’s proximity to the Greater Akron Chamber underscores a strategic focus on fostering business relationships and community engagement.
The credit union opened a branch in the city’s Wallhaven neighborhood in May, and the downtown branch is the second of four slated to open this year as part of 7 17’s expansion efforts.
During a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday, 7 17 leadership announced a $10,000 donation to the city for a major park project and a $10,000 donation to the United Way of Summit County in support of the organization’s ongoing work to help families.
