STOW, Ohio – 7 17 Credit Union on Tuesday cut the ribbon on its newest branch at 4420 Kent Road.
Among those joining John Demmler, 7 17 Credit Union CEO, for the ceremony were Mayor John Pribonic, Julie McLain, executive director of the Stow Munroe Falls Chamber, and a representative from the office of state Rep. Emelia Sykes, D-13th.
“When we launched our branch expansion analysis several years ago, Stow kept coming up as a top choice,” Demmler said. “When we found this site, we knew we had found something special. We fell in love with this location and, just as importantly, with the community around it.”
McLain said the city is “very excited” to welcome 7 17. “Today marks more than a ribbon cutting – it celebrates 7 17’s expansion,” she said.
The Stow branch is one of three opened so far this year, linking 7 17’s new Akron branches to the rest of the credit union’s branch network in Kent, Ravenna and Canton.
“Close to a year ago, 7 17 approached the city and asked to meet with myself, our economic development director and so forth to say, ‘This is what we want to do.’ That’s really cool,” Pribonic said. “Finding out what our city is about and then how we could help them. It’s a partnership, and I always look at that both ways.”
