AKRON, Ohio – 717 Credit Union and the Akron Bar Association have launched a co-branded credit card designed to support attorney resource development in Summit County.
The Affinity Visa credit card contributes 7.17 cents per transaction to fund attorney resource development initiatives at the Akron Bar Association, according to a news release. The program is intended to support the association’s long-term growth.
The card also features a 7.17% introductory annual percentage rate on purchases and balance transfers made within the first 90 days.
The organizations announced the partnership Tuesday at the Akron Bar Association building.
During the event, Brian Williams, 717 western market executive, also announced that the credit union will soon offer Interest on Lawyers’ Trust Accounts, or IOLTA, which generates revenue for the state of Ohio’s legal aid fund.
717 Credit Union has operated in northeastern Ohio for more than 68 years. It has grown from a single branch serving members of IUE Local 717 Packard Electric in Warren to 12 branches and more than 120,000 members across Trumbull, Mahoning, Portage, Summit and central Stark counties.
Founded in 1875, the Akron Bar Association serves the Summit County legal system through education, advocacy and community service initiatives.
