YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – 717 Credit Union and Youngstown State University’s athletics department are teaming up to offer a new Affinity Credit Card and special tickets to the football team’s homecoming game.
YSU will face Murray State at 2 p.m. Oct. 25 at Stambaugh Stadium. Fans can get tickets to the game three ways:
- 717 members can get free tickets by showing their 717 credit or debit card.
- Discounted tickets can be obtained for $7.17 by using any credit card/debit card either online or at the YSU ticket office at Stambaugh Stadium.
- Tickets will be available for $17 with a cash-only purchase.
“717 is proud to be an official sponsor of YSU athletics and be part of such a special homecoming tradition,” said John Demmler, president and CEO of 717 Credit Union. “Our partnership reflects our commitment to the Valley – bringing people together, building community pride and helping to create unforgettable experiences for the community, fans and families.”

To further celebrate YSU’s homecoming game, the credit union will launch a YSU Visa credit card that day. The card features a 7.17% APR for life on purchases and balance transfers made in the first 90 days, plus no fees for balance transfers, no cash advance fee and no annual fee. Also, 7.17 cents from every transaction will go directly to support YSU student-athletes.
“We’re honored to work alongside YSU to support student-athletes and the community, while offering real financial benefits to improve people’s lives,” Demmler said.
“We’re always looking for new ways to connect our passionate Penguin community, and the YSU Affinity Credit Card is a great example of that,” said Ron Strollo, executive director of Intercollegiate Athletics. “With the YSU Affinity Credit Card, supporters can now give back to our teams every time they swipe. It’s another way to stand behind our student-athletes and keep building the winning tradition we’re so proud of.”
