NILES, Ohio – 717 Credit Union’s second annual Financial Wellness Night at the Ballpark hit it out of the park Thursday, drawing a record-breaking crowd of 9,034 fans to Eastwood Field – the largest attendance in the ballpark’s history, according to a news release.

The sold-out event offered fans more than just a Mahoning Valley Scrappers baseball game. Attendees enjoyed complimentary game tickets, free food and drinks, giveaways and the first drone show at Eastwood Field, featuring 100 synchronized drones that lit up the night sky.

“This night is a celebration of our mission to improve lives and build stronger communities through financial wellness,” said John Demmler, president and CEO of 717 Credit Union. “We’re incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support from our members, our partners at the Scrappers and everyone who helped create such a magical, meaningful experience for local families.”

Fans took part in cash prize drawings every inning, with winners taking home $71.70. One grand prize winner received $717 at the end of the night. Children and families had the opportunity to play in the Dollar Dog Kids Zone, co-hosted with Oh Wow! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology. And free 717 baseball stress balls were thrown out.

“Breaking our all-time attendance record with 717 Credit Union is something special,” said Heather Sahli, general manager of the Scrappers. “Their commitment to bringing financial education and fun together makes this night bigger than baseball. We’re proud to partner with them to provide an affordable and unforgettable night out for the community and grateful to all of our Scrappers fans and supporters.”
