Enrollment Surges at Trumbull Career & Technical Center
WARREN, Ohio — Enrollment for 2021-22 school year at Trumbull Career and Technical Center has significantly grown as there are nearly 700 junior-level applicants and half of the junior-level programs are at capacity.
TCTC has approximately 400 seniors returning this year, it reports.
Incoming juniors will be among the first students to participate in newly structured programs, including the Culinary Arts Academy, education and family services, computer networking and cybersecurity, along with fire and EMS Academy. Career preparedness will increase because the Fall 2021 curriculum changes in these fields.
In the fall of 2020, the landscape design and technology program was completely restructured to focus more on landscape installation and turf management. This spring, the first cohort of those students will be completing.
TCTC has seen year-after-year growth in applicants since fall of 2019, the school reports. Biotechnology, dental assisting, exercise science and sports medicine, pre-nursing [pharmacy tech and phlebotomy] comprise the school’s health science pathway. Participation in all of these programs has grown the past two years.
In addition to the pre-nursing programs, animal science health and technology, auto services technology, construction technology, cosmetology, Culinary Arts Academy, electrical technology, engineering technology, interactive multimedia, job training, landscape design and technology, and welding programs have also reached capacity for this year.
