Ohio’s TechCred Funded 463 Employers in March
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Lt. Gov. Jon Husted announced Thursday that 463 employers were approved for funding through Ohio’s TechCred program in March.
The funding will provide the opportunity for Ohioans to earn 5,723 tech-focused credentials, according to a news release from the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation.
Some of the top industries awarded during this round include manufacturing, construction and education services.
“In this specific round of TechCred, we saw the highest number of AI credentials requested than ever before,” said Husted, who serves as director of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation. “TechCred is an easy way for your employees to advance in the workplace by upskilling themselves with an AI or tech-related credential.”
TechCred helps businesses address their workforce needs by funding training opportunities to upskill current or prospective employees. Businesses of all sizes from any industry are eligible to receive up to $30,000 per application period and up to $180,000 per year in reimbursement when credentials are earned.
The current and 26th application period for Ohio employers opened Wednesday and will close at 3 p.m. May 31. Employers can apply HERE.
