AAA to Host Shredding Event at Niles Office

NILES, Ohio – AAA members and nonmembers are invited to an event to help protect them from identity theft, which has quickly become one of the most prevalent and costly crimes in America.

To help combat the issue, AAA East Central is hosting a free shredding event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the AAA Niles branch office, 937 Youngstown-Warren Road.

Members can bring up to five storage boxes filled with personally identifiable information paperwork. Nonmembers can bring three boxes.

Items to consider may contain names, birthdates and account numbers such as credit card offers, bank statements, old checkbooks, tax forms and other paperwork, medical records, credit reports, personal records, insurance records and financial statements.

All items will be shredded on-site, and the shredded materials will be recycled.
