BOARDMAN, Ohio – The Agent Insurance Services will host its sixth annual flag exchange event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 12 at its Boardman and Salem offices.

The event is designed to help local residents properly retire worn American flags while encouraging the community to proudly display new ones in celebration of Flag Day, a news release states.

“We love seeing the community come together around this event each year,” said Ron Nanosky of The Agent Insurance Services. “Our goal is simple – to help cover our towns in beautiful American flags while honoring what the flag represents.”

Community members can bring old, faded or tattered American flags to one of the offices and exchange them for new, locally made flags at no cost. Retired flags will be respectfully disposed of through Operation Flags of Freedom. Residents do not need to be customers of The Agent Insurance Services to participate.

Those who do not have a flag to exchange are still encouraged to attend. Free flags will be distributed while supplies last.

Also during the event, attendees can enjoy:

  • Raffles and giveaways.
  • Free lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Boardman office, courtesy of Disaster Recovery Services.
  • Ice cream available for purchase from Totally 80’s at the Boardman office.

The Agent Insurance Services also encourages attendees to share photos of their flags on social media and tag the agency on Facebook – @TheAgentInsuranceServices – and Instagram – @TheAgentInsurance.
