Aim Integrated Logistics Rides to RNC with Trump
GIRARD, Ohio – The life-size bobblehead of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump made its way to this week’s Republican National Convention in Cleveland with the help of Aim Integrated Logistics.
The 3-D printed figure, unveiled Friday , was transported by Aim to Cleveland for display in the Alliance of American Manufacturers tent on the perimeter of Quicken Loans Arena, site of the GOP convention.
The bobblehead was produced and designed by Freshmade 3D in Youngstown with assistance from Youngstown State University and Humtown Products in Columbiana for the Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber as part of its “Victory for the Valley” campaign. It was meant to showcase advanced manufacturing locally and in particular the area’s leadership in advanced manufacturing.
Aim, a longtime chamber supporter, was asked to coordinate the logistics of getting the bobblehead into Cleveland for the convention. Patrick J. Grandy, Aim’s director of operations-Youngstown Region, and John Ulmer, safety manager, were responsible for transporting it to the event.
“John and I were excited to have the opportunity to shine a positive light on the Mahoning Valley,” Grandy said. “We didn’t look at this project as a ‘political statement’ — more as a chance to showcase Aim’s unique talents and abilities.”
Working with the chamber and Freshmade3D was a great experience, Grandy added.
“We viewed this project like any other. Let’s get the job done to the best of our abilities and get home safe and sound,” he said.
