GIRARD, Ohio – In a year that saw the trucking industry struggle with regulation changes, a volatile economy and a dwindling workforce, Aim Transportation Solutions not only held its own but expanded its national footprint.

The Girard-based company finished 2024 with more than 900 leasing customers, nearly 2,000 rental customers and more than 70 dedicated fleet operations.

It also opened new locations in Warsaw, Ind., and Parkersburg, W.Va., extending the company’s reach and underscoring its focus on accessibility and local support for its customers.

“Despite challenges in the trucking industry, 2024 proved to be an exceptional year for Aim, marked by significant growth, new partnerships and achievements across all divisions,” says Matt Svancara, chief operating officer of Aim Leasing Co. “Our success in a tough economic environment reflects the trust our customers place in us, the exceptional service we deliver and the hard work and dedication of every member of the Aim team.”

One of the company’s biggest differentiators is technology. Aim not only embraces cutting-edge technologies, it creates them, Svancara says.

Last year, it introduced a quicker and easier way for its customers’ drivers to receive roadside service. The innovation was developed by John Reed, chief information officer; Dan Kellgren, vice president of software development; and Steve Shacklock, director of maintenance. The “Road Rescue” tool, part of Aim’s app, earned the company the Commercial Carrier Journal’s Innovator of the Year award.

Aim received several other national accolades last year.

Several projects and initiatives introduced by Jessica Deane, vice president of marketing, led to Aim being named one of Newsweek’s top 100 Most Loved Workplaces in America for the second year in a row.

Additionally, Aim was selected as a Top Company for Women to Work in Transportation, while Tom Fleming, founder, chairman and CEO, was named Most Loved CEO.

Aim Integrated Logistics, led by David Gurska, chief operating officer, experienced growth last year. This branch of the company, which offers contract carriage and freight brokerage, added nine customer startups and outpaced the prior year’s total revenue.

Moreover, it held strong on Transport Topics’ Top Dedicated Contract Carriers list, ranking No. 26. The award speaks to Aim Transportation Solutions having the resources of a large company but the concern of a family-owned business.

“Our ability to sign new customers and expand with several existing ones during a down economy says a lot about our exceptional ability to provide trucks, drivers, operational support and everything that allows us to be a truly all-in-one, top-to-bottom transportation solution,” says Gurska.

The company’s successes in 2024 are a testament to the trust it has earned from its customers and its innovative approach, according to Scott Fleming, president.

He attributes the company’s consistency to its ability to adapt to industry challenges, and the expertise of Tom Reda, senior vice president of sales, and Brandon Steib, vice president of operations.

“Our family roots in Youngstown have always been a cornerstone of Aim’s identity, and 2024’s successes – despite the headwinds the industry faced – showed how far we’ve come while staying true to those foundations,” Fleming says.
