Aim Transportation Solutions, a local family-owned and -operated company with more than 120 years of history in the Mahoning Valley, plans to expand its operations in 2026 after successfully weathering the volatile economic conditions that affected the entire industry last year.
“Aim expects to remain in a strong position, with plans to expand through a combination of strategic acquisitions and continued organic growth,” says Scott Fleming, president.
Aim, the largest privately held truck-leasing company in the United States, continued to grow its business in 2025 despite industry-wide pressures driven by uncertain economic conditions and workforce constraints, Fleming says.
Last year, for example, Aim expanded its footprint with the opening of a second Columbus location, strengthening service capacity in a growing market.
“Our continued success comes from a long-term focus on making fleet operations simpler and more reliable for our customers,” Fleming says. “By combining comprehensive maintenance support, operational expertise and a customer-first mindset, we help companies improve uptime, manage costs and stay focused on their core business.”
The company employs more than 1,000 people nationwide.
He says workforce availability – particularly for technicians and professional drivers – remained a challenge in 2025. However, the company addressed this issue through targeted recruiting programs, investments in training and a strong focus on retention and career development.
In 2025, Aim received national recognition being named a Most Loved Workplace by The Wall Street Journal for the third consecutive year. Additionally, Tom Fleming, Aim’s founder, chairman and CEO, was recognized as a Most Loved CEO for the second consecutive year, reinforcing Aim’s reputation as a career destination, particularly at its headquarters in Liberty Township.
“Customers are increasingly looking for transportation partners who can provide stability, safety and flexibility in an uncertain environment,” Fleming adds. “Aim’s full menu of capabilities allows us to support businesses’ fleets at every stage.”
Fleming says the company remains very active in the community through fundraising and volunteer efforts with the United Way, and is a longstanding annual contributor to the Panerathon, an annual event that supports cancer research and patient services.
