BOARDMAN, Ohio – Alta Care Group announced that it is expanding its Mobile Responsive Stabilization Services program into Trumbull and Columbiana counties.

The program is an alternative to in-patient care designed for youths and young adults under age 21 who are experiencing severe emotional or behavioral distress. With a call to 988, an individual or loved one will be connected with a member of the MRSS team. Within 60 minutes, Alta’s team of clinical and support staff is dispatched to provide immediate support and ongoing care.

Each team is composed of an Alta licensed clinician and peer recovery support staff to continue care when needed for behavioral and mental health. All staff members are trained by The Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Center of Excellence of Case Western Reserve and certified by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.

The service is available 24/7 in Mahoning and Trumbull counties with Alta now serving as the regional management provider in both counties. Coleman Health Services is a subcontractor for Trumbull County. Alta is also serving as the subcontractor for Ohio Guidestone in Columbiana County to offer the MRSS program from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.

“We’re honored by the expanded role Alta Care Group is able to provide throughout the Valley with the MRSS program,” said Vince Paolucci, chief executive officer of Alta. “Our experience dating back to 2022 with MRSS has shown the service to be a valuable resource to individuals, families and loved ones to provide the care when and where it is needed most.”

Individuals and families can also receive ongoing support for up to six weeks in school or at home after an initial MRSS visit, which can include safety assessment and planning, support for parents from another peer with lived experience, development of coping skills and strategies and connection to resources.
