YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Alta Head Start will host a free community enrollment event from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday at Covelli Centre, 229 E. Front St.
The event will feature games, children’s activities, vendors and resource providers for prospective Head Start families. Families can also meet with Alta Head Start family advocates, learn more about Head Start’s services and register for the upcoming year.
Families registering for the upcoming year should bring proof or residency, proof of income and the enrolling child’s proof of birth.
The event is free and open to the public.
“We’re looking forward to connecting with members of our Alta Head Start family and the community at this week’s event – sharing in some fun and providing helpful information and resources to families,” said Lori Stellmar, Alta Head Start director.
Alta is the provider of Head Start and Early Head Start services at more than 20 locations throughout Mahoning and Trumbull counties. It serves more than 1,100 Valley children each year.
With Alta’s growing services, it’s looking to hire a number of key staff positions for the upcoming school year and will conduct interviews at the community enrollment event.
