CANFIELD, Ohio – The Ohio School Psychology Association has named Kimberly Altobelli the 2025 recipient of the Alex Thomas Ohio School Psychologist of the Year Award.

Altobelli serves as a school psychology consultant for the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce’s Northeast Region through the Educational Service Center of Eastern Ohio.

“Kim’s vision and commitment have elevated how we support schools across the region,” said Traci Hostetler, superintendent of the Educational Service Center of Eastern Ohio. “She approaches every challenge with purpose, professionalism and heart – and that’s what makes her so deserving of this honor.”

The annual award honors one school psychologist in Ohio who demonstrates exceptional leadership, advocacy and service to students and schools. Altobelli will be recognized during OSPA’s fall conference Nov. 7 in Columbus.

“This recognition is truly a reflection of the incredible teams I get to work with every day,” Altobelli said. “I’m fortunate to collaborate with so many dedicated school psychologists and educational leaders who are always looking for better ways to serve students and families.”

Altobelli earned her educational specialist and master’s degrees in school psychology from Kent State University and dual bachelor’s degrees in family studies and psychology from Miami University.
