YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – America Makes and the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining announced the winners of a recent project call worth $9 million in funding.

The Delta Qual 2.0 project, funded by the Office of the Under Secretary of War, Manufacturing Technology Office, addresses key additive manufacturing qualification challenges across the defense industrial base by streamlining testing requirements, strengthening machine installation standards and increasing flexibility for processing parameters, a news release states.

“Modernizing [additive manufacturing] qualification is essential to maintaining our defense readiness,” said John Martin, additive manufacturing research director at America Makes. “Delta Qual 2.0 will lay the groundwork for a more agile, trusted and scalable manufacturing ecosystem.”

Topic 1: Quantitative Measurement-Based Installation Qualification
