YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – America Makes will host a TRX webinar at 1 p.m. July 15 focused on the use of ultrasonic welding to reinforce large-format 3D-printed structures.
The webinar, “Ultrasonic Welding of Polymer Composite Tape to 3D Printed Structures for Reinforcement Applications,” will feature Jim Stratton, president and CEO of Agile Ultrasonics.
Participants will learn how multiaxial thermoplastic laminates can be ultrasonically welded to large-format 3D-printed parts for exoskeletal strengthening and lightweighting. The session also will highlight results showing how Agile’s approach has doubled the bend strength over baseline in 3D-printed stiffener parts.
The webinar will explore how continuous ultrasonic welding of composite materials can enable lighter, stronger and more complex large-format 3D-printed designs.
