YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Andrea Wood, a veteran journalist and co-founder of The Business Journal, has been named Publisher Emeritus following her retirement, effective April 1.

Wood’s career spanned more than 50 years in broadcast and print journalism, culminating in the founding of The Business Journal in 1984 amid the Mahoning Valley’s economic collapse.

Wood reflects on her time covering the Mahoning Valley through decades of economic upheaval and transformation. The publication sought to shift the regional narrative by highlighting positive business developments and advocating for economic cooperation.

“I’d like to think that we changed the narrative,” she says. “And I think we did.”
