YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Bitonte College of Health and Human Services Radiologic Technologist Program at Youngstown State University is accepting applications for its fall 2025 cohort.
The program is designed to offer students a comprehensive path to earning an Associate of Applied Science degree in radiologic technology.
Starting in August 2025, the 22-month program will combine academic coursework and hands-on clinical experience over five semesters, including one summer session of full-time study. The program requires 62 credit hours for completion, with students able to take general education courses prior to admission. Official admission into the program is required to begin core courses.
Graduates of the program will be eligible to take the national certification examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, a required credential for practicing as a radiologic technologist. Upon completion, they will have the technical expertise needed to excel as entry-level radiographers, along with strong communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for professional practice.
Throughout the program, students will refine their skills in patient positioning, select appropriate technical parameters and uphold best practices in radiation protection. They will demonstrate effective written and verbal communication with both colleagues and patients, adapt standard procedures to accommodate nonroutine cases and evaluate images for diagnostic quality.
By maintaining high professional standards and successfully completing the program, graduates will be well-prepared to pass the ARRT examination and embark on careers in radiologic technology.
The admissions process is divided into three parts: general university admission, request for review of program-specific requirements and the program application. Only applicants who meet the program admission requirements will receive a link to apply to the program. More information on the program admissions process can be found HERE.
