YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Local teachers who recently participated in a Classrooms Without Borders trip to Poland will share their experiences at 6 p.m. Aug. 6 at the Jewish Community Center of Youngstown, 505 Gypsy Lane.

The Jewish Community Relations Council of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation event will include not only this year’s participants, but also those from the past three years.

The two-week trip with a Holocaust survivor immersed participants in the history and culture of the Holocaust. Teachers attending this year were Brian Bugos of Newton Falls High School, Christen Jones of West Middlesex Area School District, Ryan Kish of the Campbell City School District and Jodi West of Akiva Academy.

They will share their thoughts on the trip and how they believe it will impact their teaching in the future. There will also be opportunities to speak with the teachers about their experience and to speak with past participants about how the experience changed how they teach.

The event, which will include appetizers and dessert, is free, but registration is required. Contact Nancy at nsentelik@jewishyoungstown.org or 330 746 3250, ext. 108, to register.
