Arielle McNutt, E-6 Staff Sergeant, U.S. Army
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Arielle McNutt will mark the Fourth of July with fireworks and spectacular news of her own: She will complete her MBA in digital marketing July 3 at Youngstown State University.
McNutt served in the U.S. Army from 2003 until 2015 and rose to the rank of staff sergeant. Her service included combat duty in Iraq.
Today she is the director of marketing/media and game operations for the Youngstown Phantoms hockey team.
“Having the opportunity to serve my country was an honor,” McNutt says. “The military taught me so many great things. One of the biggest things was time management, which is very much needed in the sports field.”
McNutt grew up in Youngstown and graduated from Valley Christian School. She joined the Phantoms as a marketing intern.
“I have met many people who have served in the military, and the lesson I learned from them is humbleness and selfless service.
“It takes strength, courage and dedication to serve,” she says.
