NORTH LIMA, Ohio – Armstrong is set to kick off its annual Avenge Hunger campaign to help fight hunger across its service territory.

The campaign, part of the company’s Breaking Bread initiative, will run from Aug. 25 through Oct. 5 to coincide with September being National Hunger Action Month.

Locally, Armstrong locations will collect nonperishable food and monetary donations for Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley and the Youngstown Community Food Center. Members of the community can contribute food and monetary donations individually or host food drives. Armstrong will collect all donations and deliver them on the donors’ behalf.

Armstrong will also collect food and monetary donations for pets and deliver them to Animal Charity of Ohio.

Armstrong’s Breaking Bread initiative began in 2010 to help feed those in need within the communities Armstrong serves. The initiative includes collecting food and money, volunteering time and creating public awareness. The first Avenge Hunger Month was held in September 2018 to help bring more awareness to Breaking Bread and generate more donations to help local feeding programs.
