Jim Foster
President, Global-Pak, Elkton

Jim Foster not only makes a difference in our workplace but in our communities as well.

Jim and the late Kevin Channel started Global-Pak in 1998. It has since grown to more than 40 employees.

From humble beginnings, it is one of the most successful businesses in Columbiana County. The company makes flexible bulk containers  and delivers its products internationally.

Jim works to have a positive influence on people within the office. He says hello to everyone and asks about their families, what they did over the weekend, how their house projects are going, etc. He goes above and beyond what a typical boss would do, even when he is busy. He pushes to include everyone within the company and ensure we’re treated fairly and working toward a common goal. He cares for the employees and wants them to know they are valued.

Jim implemented the Fred Award and Good Catch Award to give accolades and a monetary prize to people going above and beyond at their jobs or who catch a mistake before it gets to a customer.

Through Global-Pak, he donates to local charities, including a $25,000 donation to Project MKC for our 25th year in business. Recently, the company donated several pallets of goods to those in Western North Carolina who were affected by Hurricane Helene.

He is continually working toward a better future for everyone at Global-Pak and within the community. He has been an advocate for the people in Elkton by helping to clean up the area, donating land to the Elkton park and pushing for city water so residents can have cleaner drinking water in their homes.

Jim is an honest man and full of integrity. What he says he will do, he gets done. He always does the right thing, even when it may not be in his favor or is the harder option. He is also very patient. When things go adrift, he can easily steer the ship back in the right direction.
