BERLIN CENTER, Ohio – An online auction for Mastropietro Winery ended Wednesday afternoon with no bidder meeting the minimum price that the sellers were willing to accept.
No deal had been reached as of the end of business Friday with any bidder, according to Dan Mastropietro, who owns and operates the property with his sister, Cathy.
The winery at 14558 Ellsworth Road was opened in 2005 by the siblings, who plan to retire.
The property features a large Tuscan-style building with a tasting room, a dining room and a sports bar, and a kitchen.
Outdoors, there is a spacious patio, a gazebo, a production building, a pavilion and a pond. The property also has three acres of grape vines that are used in making wine. The auction was conducted by Transition Auction Group via a secure online bidding platform.
