YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Autism Society of Mahoning Valley recently announced the addition of four new members to its board of directors as the organization continues its strategic growth.
The new board members – Katie Brown, Alex Hertzer, Kate Davis-Starner and Tracy Marciano – bring diverse professional experience in human resources, healthcare, workforce and economic development and real estate, strengthening the organization’s leadership as it expands programs, partnerships, community engagement and resources for individuals and families across the Mahoning Valley, a news release states.
Brown is a strategic human resources executive with more than 18 years of leadership experience in organizational development, culture transformation, talent strategy and executive leadership. She is passionate about people-centered leadership and building strong organizations where individuals and teams can thrive.
Hertzer is the executive director of the Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition, an industry-led partnership strengthening the manufacturing workforce across eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania. He has experience in workforce and economic development and a commitment to building community partnerships.
Davis-Starner is a licensed practical nurse, healthcare executive and founder of Athene Health Services and RISE + Co. She brings extensive experience in healthcare leadership, education and advocating for compassionate, high-quality care.
Marciano is a real estate agent with Burgan Real Estate. She also has more than 20 years of healthcare experience, with expertise in organization, confidentiality and relationship building. She is also deeply invested in the autism community, having served for numerous years on the board of the Rich Center for Autism and having previously served as a member of the Autism Society of Mahoning Valley Board of Directors.
“We are excited to welcome four exceptionally talented individuals to our board of directors. Each brings unique professional experience, expertise and community connections that will help guide our continued growth and strengthen the Autism Society of Mahoning Valley as we move forward,” said Jodi Glass, executive director of the Autism Society of Mahoning Valley. “As we look toward the remainder of 2026 and into 2027, their skills and perspectives will be invaluable as we expand and continue building an organization that can meet the growing needs of the autism community.”
As the organization moves through the remainder of 2026 and into 2027, it will continue focusing on sustainable growth, expanded programming, increased community awareness and building a stronger network of support for individuals and families affected by autism, the release states.
“We are building an organization that is positioned not only to meet today’s needs, but to grow with our community,” Glass said. “Our new board members add valuable expertise and connections that will help us continue moving forward with intention and purpose.”
